Waikiki's very popular gay beach
Located in Kapiolani Park at the end of Waikiki, towards Diamond Head. It's easy to find - just enter the park from Waikiki and walk along the beach. The Beach House Snack Bar is a good landmark to look for. This is not a nude beach.

      Need new gay beach
Barely any gays at Queens Beach when I visited on holiday. Far removed from being able to order a drink on the beach. The gays need to plant a pride flag at the beach in front of the Sheraton and Royal Hawaiian where I saw more gays tanning and playing in the surf. Ran into even more at the beachfront bar at the Royal.

Gay area is in the grass now
Apparently this used to be the happening place for gays. The beach has been assimilated with straight families and seems to be a popular launching point for surfing/body boarding classes. You'll usually see the gays hanging out in the grassy area under the trees on the right side of the cafe.

      Still gays here
Went several times while on vacation in December. Saw about a 50 to 70% gay population on the beach or grass. Not crowded at all this time of year. Had many a swim from this beach. Look forward to going here again when we return next year. With a surfboard!

      Not that good anymore
visit every year and this used to be a hot beach with hot guys and in the bathroom/changing area i occassionally saw guys playing but not anymore. It's mostly str8 and LOTS of homeless tents there now. Wouldn't waste my time. Usually end up at the beach under the lighthouse. It's considered the nude beach but that's not really the case anymore either. Occasionally you'll see a guy nude but for most part it's either speedo's, beach shorts or thongs. Some areas you can still cruise and hook up but be careful because lots of str8's and families are starting to go there.

      Not like years past.
I first knew of this place when I moved to Hawaii in the mid 70's. It was at that time filled with gay men and friends of gays. Today it is almost too hard to tell. Back then it was an everyday event to sun, hit a bar on Kapahulu called the Blow Hole. For me Honolulu was more exciting for gays in the 70's & Early 80's . The whole scene was more lively, now everything like Queens surf has seemed to assimilated which may not be a bad thing but just seems washed out.

      Was a nice beach/park
The grass area behind the beach is fill with homeless tents. Very sad situation that the city cannot seem to control.

      Just another beach
OK, it's great to be in Waikiki, so you gotta love it just for that. But I didn't really notice that this is a gay beach. I wonder where the boys go now?

      Not Very Gay Anymore
This is an OK beach if you are staying in Waikiki, but the gay scene is not very hot here anymore. Lots of families have discovered the beach and Kapiolani park behind it. I noticed a few gay men here the last few times I visited, but not enough to maintain its old reputation. Too bad.

    • Boys can be girls
Great beach for gay or straight guys to wear thongs and g-strings. I have seen guys wear g-strings and cammy tops. Not a great beach to make out if same sex because it is also a family beach. If you are a straight guy you could find lots of girls in thongs.
