Very nice setting

This is a cute bar, great setting, overlooks Kapiolani Park (Zoo) and to right the ocean. Its a very nice bar but if you like dancing the space is too tiny like most bars actually in Honolulu. Its actually for me better after a day at the beach (Queens Surf, across street) to share a drink with friends or meet someone new. My partiality is to the old Hula's Bar & Lei Stand formerly on Kuhio, since long gone. Greed and money changed all that. It had a banyon tree that spanded entire club, it was connected to other bars and Hamburger Mary's, also now gone. Anyone and everyone knew this place. It was my old stomping ground when I lived there in late 70's early 80's. Can I say if I were a zillionaire I would have saved this place. It was a treasure. It should have been protected.

THEY DON'T CALL IT A LEI STAND FOR NOTHING

HAD AN ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS TIME VISITING THIS BAR WITH INCREDIBLE VIEWS OF DIAMOND HEAD VOLCANO AND VERY HANDSOME,SHIRTLESS BARTENDERS.SINCE MY DELUXE STUDIO APARTMENT WITH TWO PRIVATE BALCONIES WAS LOCATED UPSTAIRS IN THE HOTEL WHERE HULA'S IS LOCATED, I WOULD OFTEN PICK UP YOUNG MEN FOR SEX AT THE LEI STAND AND TAKE THEM RIGHT UP TO MY ROOM. WHAT AN AWESOME LOCATION THIS IS. ALSO IT IS DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM KAPIOLANI PARK, WHICH CAN ALSO GET VERY CRUISY AFTERHOURS. THE PACIFIC OCEAN IS ONLY ONE BLOCK FROM HERE ON WAIKIKI BEACH. I DEFINITELY GIVE HULA'S BAR AND LEI STAND A STRONG RECOMMENDATION.
