Lu'au (Drums of the Pacific)
Poi was lumpy, and food was mediocre at best. Though the hula halau was talented and attractive, it did not compensate for feeling herded through the buffet lines, and ripped off with such lackluster food, despite our VIP seating with complimentary Mai Tai's. Ask the kama'aina for better lu'au suggestions.
Great Hotel on Picturesque Kaanapali Beach
First off, I have to say that Hyatts are my favorite of the chain hotels. And this is a beautiful property. It has a prime West Maui location on Kaanapali Beach. The rooms and the bath amenities are luxurious. One of my favorite things to do here in the evening is walk down to the beach and turn right, heading north along the beach-walk among all the tiki torches, strolling from one beautiful property to the next. There are plenty of dining choices on this property, but they do tend to be on the expensive side.
