    Wow
My boyfriend and I stayed there about five days. We landed at Hilo airport, about a 45 minute drive away. A large road led us to a smaller road then to a dirt road and eventually to a bamboo gate in a lush green estate with a beautiful swimming pool. You could hear the waves in the distance. Randolph, the host there, truely has the "aloha spirit". You can't help but love this guy. My boyfriend and I went on a night time volcano walk, it was a profound, humbling experience (bring a good flashlight, camera, water and wear long pants). Waterfalls, black sand beaches and lava it's Hawaii at it's best. Funny side note- his chicken would climb up the stairs an leave an egg every morning around 8:30 cracked me up!

To really get away from it all-- tropical paradise
Pamalu is located on 5 acres in the rural Puna coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. We stayed here for a week. It's gay owned and you wind up meeting lots of interesting people-- both locals and guests. We spent a lot of time at the clothing-optional beach, and exploring the volcanoes, blow holes and hiking. The scenery just begs for you to explore it-- lush, tropical, warm and wonderful. This rustic coastal community is made up of lots of ex-hippies-- so it's VERY laid back, relaxing and accepting-- a paradise for gays. The biodiversity is stunning. You don't book online. Instead, you phone Randolph and chat with him about your stay :-) You may also email him.
