Great place to hang out with friends, meet people, have fun and dance
+ The atmosphere is friendly and laid back. When I visited Blazing Saddles for the first time, pretty much everybody came to me to introduce themselves. I received a lot of hugs. There is no attitude and no pressure even for beginners like me who were just starting country western dancing. I left feeling really welcome. + A good variety of music throughout the night, including songs for 2-step, waltz, swing and line dances. Some songs played on a recent Tuesday night: Bad Romance, Hey Soul Sister, Candyman, Cowboy Casanova, 4 Minutes, Who Are You When I'm Not Looking, Sexy Back. Even though I don't listen to country music, I still got to dance to songs I am familiar with. + A good mix of crowd including men and women, gay and straight. + This is a nonprofit social club, not a bar. It's alcohol free, which I think is a big plus. The donation at the door is $5-10, which is a great deal for a full night of dancing, music and fun. There is no membership fee. There are free water and light snacks, which come in handy, as you will get a good workout after a night of twirling on the dance floor.
Yeehaw!
If you're into country western dancing or would like to give it a try, Blazing Saddles is the place to be. Friendly, social atmosphere. An alternative to the bar scene. Mixed crowd, mostly men but quite a few women too, all ages. Good fun!
