Polynesian Culture Center

(2 Ratings)
Educational and family-friendly - a good way to get a crash course in Polynesian societies.
This is a 42-acre, Polynesian-themed theme park owned by the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Visitors walk through simulations of various, ancient Polynesian cultures. Live shows of dance and music occur frequently. Various eating options available. Leave plenty of time to explore - there's a lot to see!

A pricey, but fantastic way to spend a day. Educational, interactive and FUN. Many uplifting experiences that presented the culture of Polynesia.

Mormon owned.

This would be a great place to visit if it weren't for the fact that it is Mormon owned and funded.

Get a taste of Polynesia

This is basically a theme park but in reality it is an educational center to enlighten tourist about the many different cultures that make up Polynesia. Most people only think of Hawaii or Tahiti but Polynesia stretches from the Maori nation of NZ to Papua New Guinea to Easter Island. There is a different sections of park dedicated to the cultures and a show in the main stage area where you will get to experience the different dances and war chants. The center is run by the Mormon church and staffed by many students at BYU-Hawaii campus. I would recommend it at least once on a trip to Oahu. It is located on North Shore , you can drive or take one of the many tours offered in Waikiki.
